What diesel can do in a petrol vehicle
Petrol engines are designed to ignite a petrol-and-air mixture with spark plugs. Diesel has different combustion properties. When enough diesel reaches the engine, the vehicle may misfire, smoke, lose power, refuse to start or stop running.
The outcome is not identical for every car or every quantity of fuel. That is why the sensible first response is simple: do not start the engine, and give the technician accurate information about what happened.
How a mobile diesel-in-petrol drain works
The technician first confirms the vehicle, fuel mix and whether the engine has run. The contaminated fuel is removed with mobile equipment. The system is flushed where appropriate, then enough correct fuel is added to help get the vehicle moving.
