What should I do if I put the wrong fuel in my car?
Do not start the engine. If you are already moving, stop as soon as it is safe. Switch off, keep the key out of the ignition where possible and call Fuel Drain Scotland so we can assess the safest next step.
How quickly can you reach me?
We aim to arrive within 60–90 minutes, depending on traffic, distance and availability. We will give you an honest indication when you call.
What areas does Fuel Drain Scotland cover?
We are based in Glenrothes, Fife and provide mobile help across Scotland, including cities, towns and rural locations. Call with your postcode or live location so we can confirm availability.
How much does fuel draining cost?
Fuel drains start from £119 + fuel. Travel costs may apply. The final quote depends on the vehicle, location and circumstances, and we will explain it before work starts.
Is misfuelling covered by my insurance?
Some policies include misfuelling cover and others do not. Check your policy or contact your insurer. We can provide the service whether or not you claim.
What types of vehicles do you service?
The source service list includes cars, vans, motorbikes, lorries and agricultural vehicles. Tell us the make, model, registration and fuel involved so we can confirm the right response.
Do you offer a 24/7 emergency service?
Yes. Emergency wrong-fuel and mobile tyre call-outs are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Urgent roadside mechanic help is available subject to the job and location. Routine servicing and planned repairs are arranged by appointment.
What if I have already driven after misfuelling?
Do not panic. Stop as soon as it is safe, switch off the engine and call us. We will assess what happened and explain the appropriate drain and flush process.
Will the fuel drain process damage my car?
The process is designed to remove contaminated fuel safely. The exact work needed depends on whether the engine was started or the vehicle was driven, so we assess the circumstances before beginning.
Do you provide a correct-fuel top-up?
Yes. After the contaminated fuel is drained and the system is flushed, we can add enough correct fuel to help get you moving. Fuel is charged separately.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all forms of payment. Our mobile team can take payment at your location.
